The following comprehension strategies are taught in the Making Meaning program:

Textual evidence is a skill used frequently this year, and often it is difficult for students to remember how to cite this evidence in written responses. The acronym RACE will help them remember what to include.
R Restate the question.
A Answer the question.
C Cite evidence.
E Explain or Elaborate.
