Greetings to all my Art Special students.

Our main gold for the start of the new school year is to practice our skills of patience, pencil sketching, the value of shading and reflective highlight. You will be introduced to world famous artists and use their images as inspiration for your own work. You will have the opportunity to recognize the different styles of artwork, from realistic to non-figurative. Landscape design and the overlapping perspective of a still life.

All grades from K-5 will cover the difference between hard contour lines vs sketching and gesture drawing.

We will do our best to move ahead with this new way of learning and do our best to succeed.

The elements of art are important for several reasons. First, and most importantly, a person can't create art without utilizing at least a few of them. No elements, no art.

Secondly, knowing what the elements of art enable us to:

Describe: Talk about what an artist has done.
Analyze: Describe what is going on in a particular piece.
Communicate: Using creativity to connect with others without using words.
